I never used to be a tea drinker. The only time I really put that much effort into making a drink is when I have hot chocolate. I usually like to stick to investing my time in creating more delicious desserts. But when I made a conscious decision to clean up my diet I always seemed to come back to herbal tea. I realized that the right herbal tea recipes can help keep me from snacking as much throughout the day and have become my go to natural remedy for viral infections and colds.
Here are my favorite healing herbal teas I drink regularly.
Note – I really don’t like over complicating my tea recipes. I like things to be as simple as they possibly can be otherwise I won’t make it.
Healing Herbal Tea Recipes for Detox
Rose Hips Tea
This one is seriously so good and I love this brand. You can shop this organic rose hip tea on Amazon here.
Lemon Balm Tea
When I make lemon balm tea I will usually buy the lemon balm extract to add to hot water and then squeeze a lemon in it. Warning – if you don’t squeeze a lemon in it it will taste bad. But with the lemon it tastes amazing. This is the lemon balm extract I always buy on amazon.
If you don’t want to mess with the lemons and lemon balm then I would just try the tea bags on Amazon.
You can also use 2 teaspoons of fresh or dried herb to 16oz of hot water. Steep for 10-15 minutes. Mix in a little raw honey or some fresh lemon to taste!
Dandelion Root Tea
This one has a very strong taste, and not in a good way. But it is really good for healing so I always try to keep it in the rotation.
Dandelion Root Tea Recipe Instructions:
2 teaspoons of dried dandelion root to 16oz of hot water. Steep for 10-15 minutes. Mix in a little raw honey or some fresh lemon to taste!
If you don’t want to make it with the raw loose leaf I recommend this one on amazon. It is the one I use when I want something faster.
Raspberry Leaf Tea
To make Raspberry leaf tea, pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of dried or fresh herb and let steep for 10 minutes or more. Sweeten with raw honey if desired. Raspberry leaf can be found online or at your local health food store in capsule, tincture, extract, and tea form.
Chaga Tea
Chaga is a mushroom that is has extremely high levels of antioxidants and healing properties.
Chaga Tea Recipe Instructions:
Mix 1 teaspoon of Organic Chaga powder with 8oz of hot water.
