Are you feeling bloated all the time? Do you experience stomach distention to the point where people feel comfortable asking when you are due? Yes, as in baby on the way.
Step by Step – This is the Best Belly Bloat Cleanse I Have Ever Done
Before we get into it can I just get that out of the way? Bloating sucks. Bloating freaking sucks! And it is one of those health issues that a lot of people (not all)roll their eyes at and think “here we go, another 20 something year old girl complaining of bloating….”
It is one of those issues that most people just don’t get.
I can’t tell you how many times I would try and explain to a friend my bloating and swelling issues and they would look at me and say “You aren’t bloated, you don’t look swollen!” It is hard to find empathy out there, especially with chronic health conditions like this.
It was usually at that point when I would bust out the pictures.
As you can see, swelling and bloating can be a lot more serious than gaining 5 lbs during your period.
My battle with constant bloating / 7 year fight
Painful Bloating Symptoms
I had constant stomach pain, felt awful all the time, I couldn’t wear any of my clothes, I couldn’t sleep on my stomach (yes, it can get that bad), and I always thought it was going to go away but it always came back. There seemed to be things that would help temporarily but nothing permanent.
When I was really swollen and bloated if I wanted to fit into any clothes I was not able to eat anything while I was out, or drink anything (even drinking water would cause my belly to bloat).
Bloating may have become the “norm” but it doesn’t have to be your norm
I honestly had so many other health issues I eventually gave up on my bloating because no one had a clue what was causing it and all the tests the doctors were running seemed to get us nowhere.
What Causes Bloating?
According to Anthony Williams belly bloat/stomach distention canbe caused by the lack of bile produced by your liver and a lack of hydrochloric acid in your stomach. When you do not have sufficient amounts of bile and hydrochloric acid in your stomach your body can’t digest food as effectively. This could, in turn lead to food sitting in your gut for long periods of time and eventually rotting. Gross!
No, I am not a doctor – and neither is Anthony William The Medical Medium but he has a theory about the cause of bloating that I found fascinating and logically it makes a lot of sense to me.
(It is important to note that not all cases are the same, this is just one of his recommendations)
When I first read this I was skeptical, but no one else seemed to have any answers so I was open to the idea that this couldbe one of the causes of my bloating.I had had issues with bile production in the past and no one ever seemed to think it was a big deal. I was always just told it was “normal” and not to worry.
How do you cure belly bloat?
If one of the potential causes of belly bloat and stomach distention by low bile production and low hydrochloric acid then the next question is how do you increase the hydrochloric acid in your stomach? And are there any foods that can make bloating worse?
This is exactly what I did to get rid of my belly bloat for good
Step 1.Drink 16-32 ounces of celery juice every day first thing in the morning before food. (I started with less than 16oz to make sure I didn’t have too strong a reaction from it.)
Step 2.After drinking the celery juice (right after juicing it fresh – it is more powerful this way)wait at least 20 minutes before eating. It will go through your system, break down pathogens and begin the process of “cleaning house” or as my husband calls it “colon blow”.
Step 3. I made the “Heavy metal detox smoothie” every day I could. (When I was traveling I did not have it or the celery juice) This is by far the best detox smoothie I have ever made. When I started I did not have all the ingredients. The barely grass juice powder is expensive so I passed on that one for the first few moths, I wanted to make sure it was working before investing money into gettin that one. Most of the others were easy to pick up at the grocery store. (minus the Dulce – not sure anyone keeps Atlantic Sea Dulce around in their pantry)
What is in the heavy metal detox smoothie?
Detox Smoothie Ingredients:
2 bananas
2 cups wild blueberries (different than regular blueberries)
1 cup cilantro
1 cup orange juice – I juice mine with this citrus juicer– I use about 3 oranges and then put the pulp in my smoothie as well
1 tsp barley grass juice powder
1 tsp spirulina (I use this Hawaiian spirulina)
1 small handful of Atlantic dulse
Step 4.I lowered my high-fat, high-protein foods and cut out all refined sugars, wheat, all dairy (including eggs), natural flavors, canola oil, and corn (especially high fructose corn syrup – which is in basically everything here in the US)
Which brings me to my next point. What foods cause bloating?
What foods cause bloating?
According to the Medical Medium, Anthony William if you want to heal your bloating it is important that you lower the amount of high-fat, high-protein foods you are eating.
He says – “Whether you eat a plant based or or animal foods diet, too much fat and protein will only result in more bloating and digestive issues eventually.
I know that high protein and high fat diets are the popular trend right now, but unfortunately these diets are misleading people. While their benefit is that they remove processed foods from the diet and can give some results for someone who was eating worse foods before, unfortunately these diets are not the answer for chronic illness and symptoms long term. Whey protein, pea protein, coconut oil, milk, yogurt, peanut butter and almond butter—all of these additions to your morning smoothies will aggravate bloating.”
This was completely new information to me but I was desperate. So I lowered my high fat proteins and replaced my peanut butter morning smoothie I was drank every morning for years with, with the heavy metal detox smoothie he recommends.
The Brutal Truth About Healing –It just takes time
When I started this diet everything got worse! Everything! I was more bloated and swollen than I had been in years. It got so bad that I almost quit a week in – the first week was the WORST for me.
Not what you wanted to hear? Me neither. But, if you have been battling belly bloat for years like I was along with other chronic health issues you come to learn that healing is not quick, not easy, and it doesn’t happen overnight! Sigh. Wouldn’t that be great?!
How long did it take for me to see results?
It took about 3 months before I started to see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. At 4 months my belly bloat seemed to have completely disappeared.
Seriously, it is crazy! I still am having a hard time believing it. The bloating, swelling, only being able to wear stretchy clothes, and constantly being asked “when are you due?” have completely halted.
It has only been 4-5 months, so we will see if any bloating returns, but after trying so many different things for years I can honestly say that nothing has worked so well and for so long as drinking celery juice. I can actually wear jeans again!! Yay!
Don’t quit if you don’t see results right away
